Overview
Hanoi is amazing. That’s all there is to it. It is vibrant and alive, and rich in culture, history. Every street is a new experience. So, hop on the City Sightseeing Hanoi bus and we’ll take you to all the city’s treasures.
Hop off at Hanoi Cathedral in the atmospheric Old Quarter and take a walk through the busily atmospheric streets to the fantastically colourful Bach Ma Temple. If you’re hungry, grab some delicious Vietnamese street food. If you’re not hungry, we think you will be when you see the delicious Vietnamese street food!
Hop back on the bus and head for Hoan Kiem Lake, an oasis of calm in the middle of the city. There’s a temple on an island in the middle of the lake, which you can reach via a wooden bridge. It’s a beautiful place. For more stunning temples, hop back on the bus. Quan Thanh is a Taoist temple that honour the “God of the North” and Tran Quoc Pagoda, another temple built on an island, is the oldest Buddhist temple in the city.
Ho Chi Minh is undoubtedly Vietnam’s most famous modern leader. If you want to learn more about him, hop off at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an incredible-looking building which is open to the public and where you can see his embalmed body. The mausoleum is close to a beautiful park, which features some impressive botanical gardens.
Another fascinating destination is Hoa Lo Prison, which was known as the Hanoi Hilton during the Vietnam War by the American prisoners held there. Most of the prison has been demolished, but the gatehouse still remains and it’s a fascinating reminder of that terrible conflict. To go even further back in time, hop off at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, a complex of imperial buildings that date back to the 11th-century!
There’s so much more to Hanoi as you’ll discover once you hop on the bus. Book your 48-hour ticket today to see Hanoi!
