Potsdam is Berlin’s most popular day-trip destination and for good reason. It’s a veritable playground for biking, with many Prussian and Cold War sights tucked away in beautiful gardens. This tour shows you the grandeur, lifestyle, and power of the Hohenzollern dynasty as we cycle through their gardens and parks and see their palaces. Come prepared for an action-filled day!

Overview
This full-day tour begins at our shop in Alexanderplatz, where we will board a train for the half hour journey to Potsdam. After picking up our bicycles, we will ride through the beautiful city of Potsdam, left largely untouched by the Second World War. Along the way, we will stop at Sanssouci Palace, Frederick the Great’s favourite residence. We will also see the New Palace and Cecilienhof Palace where the Allied Leaders met for the Potsdam Conference following the conclusion of World War II in Europe and ushered in the Nuclear Age. You will then get a chance to visit the “Bridge of Spies,” or the Glienicke Brücke, site of Cold War spy exchanges between East and West.
Half-way through the tour, we will take a lunch break in Potsdam’s historic Dutch Quarter (cost not included) and give you some time to explore on your own. This is a great opportunity to get to know your guide and group more and ask all of your burning questions about Berlin and how best to spend your time there.
Potsdam is a beautiful backdrop to any photo, and your guide will make sure to take you to the best spots throughout the day.
At the end of the tour, you can choose to extend your stay in Potsdam or travel back to our shop in Alexanderplatz by train with your guide. We are also happy to meet you in Potsdam; just be sure to let us know in the comments of your booking if you will already be staying there.
