Our adventure through the Mamma Mia island’s historical town begins when we leave the Dolphin of Skopelos office along the coastal road that leads to the Church of Panagitsa of Pirgos (devoted to Virgin Mary) and the remains of the Venetian castle.

Overview
We make a short stop at the church for a 10-minute break to enjoy the panoramic view of the settlement and the north Aegean. Then continue walking inside of the old town and around the castle.
After passing the castle’s steps we walk inside the traditional settlement of the island making our way through the narrow streets and alleys admiring the local architecture. We will then make a stop at a traditional micro-shipbuilding workshop, run by the Boudalas family whose long tradition of shipbuilding has been passed down through the generations. At the final stop you will have the opportunity to taste the local wine “Stafylos” accompanied by traditional local meze.
Remember to wear a hat, sturdy shoes and bring a bottle of water and your camera to capture the panoramic view and the traditional settlement!
